FREEDOM 125: DESIGN

Bajaj has completely gone out of the league by surprising us with a design that will appeal to almost everyone. In the 125cc segment, one wouldn’t even expect to have a motorcycle that looks so stylish and attractive, but Bajaj has completely changed the game. For starters, it offers a round LED headlight, the longest seat in the segment, a tubular steel trellis frame, a telescopic fork in the front and a linked monoshock in the rear. The bike has been designed in such a way that the seat to tank ratio is very well balanced.

FREEDOM 125: ENGINE

It is powered by a 125cc Engine producing 9.3ps and 9.7nm of torque. With the addition of CNG option, the power of the bike has decreased. One should not expect this bike to be driven at high speed as the top speed is limited to just 90.5 km/hr on CNG and 93.4 km/hr on Petrol. The Freedom 125 is mated to a 5 speed gearbox offering smooth shifts and a light clutch. Riders have the option to switch between CNG and Petrol while on the go just by pressing a button.

FREEDOM 125: CNG

Bajaj has smartly integrated the CNG cylinder under the seat of the bike. Though the actual weight of the cylinder is around 16kgs, only 2kg of gas can be filled inside of it. In addition, the petrol tank capacity is 2 litres. According to the figures, the Freedom 125 has a range of 330km (CNG+Petrol), on CNG alone the bike can run for 200km and 130km on petrol. Although Bajaj claims that it could return up to 115km per kg of CNG which is astonishing but is due to be tested.

While running on CNG, Bajaj claims that riders can reduce their daily running cost by 50 percent, leading to savings of up to ₹75,000 on fuel costs over 5 years and also lowering carbon emissions by 26 percent.

FREEDOM 125: SAFETY

With the integration of CNG in motorcycles, everyone might doubt what will happen in case of a crash. To answer that, Bajaj has engineered the CNG cylinder to be well protected in the Trellis Frame of the bike. On top of that, Bajaj has released several videos of crash tests which included, the bike being run over by a 10 ton truck and a 1.5 ton crash test and more. Through this, Bajaj has ensured the people of the motorcycle’s safety.
